Marrakech - your own dream weekend - 4days

Marrakech; the city of 1001 nights. It's just like a fairy tale. Only a 3-hour flight from Western Europe and you walk into another colourful world, where all your senses are tingled.
In the magic city of Marrakech you can stroll through the narrow alleys of the 'souks' (local markets & handycraft shops) or you can visit the nicely decorated medieval palace El Bahai, the ruïnes of the even more old Palais El Badi, the Saadian Tombes and the old koranschool Medersa Ben Youssef. And ofcourse there are the colorful gardens once styled and owned by famous Yves St. Laurent: les Jardins Majorelles.
At the famous gathering square Jemaa el Fnaa every evening there is the festival of street artists with dancers, performers and even snakes ... And if you get tired you can sit for hours on one of the rooftop terraces with a nice view on all this, sipping your local mint tea or a fresh orange juice! There is just so much to see and enjoy; you defintely will come back.
And if you like a visit to the mountains - they are close; you can see them from the city. Make a one day excursion to the Berber valleys around Imlil in the High Atlas mountains. The road to get there is already fantastisc and as you travel with your own driver you can stop to make a picture where ever you like. In the mountains a local guide takes you for an easy walk. Showing you the nicest places and telling about Berber culture and traditions. And then ... there is a delicious lunch with a view ...
