Skiën in Marokko?
Ja, dat kan. Liften* zijn er alleen bij Jebel Oukaïmeden (3.260m). Elders loop je zelf met je tourski's naar boven. Diverse toppen en passen mogelijk: Tizi Likemt (3.500m), Ras-n-Ouanakrim (4.045m), Akioud (4.030m) en natuurlijk ook de hoogste top: Jebel Toubkal (4.167m).

Skiing in Morocco, As soon as you leave the city you are entering a different world with Berber people in djellabahs visiting the weekly market (souk), small villages covered with snow and everywhere friendly people saying hello and willing to share a glass of mint tea with you. The ski lift in the small ski resort near Jebel Oukaïmeden (3.260m) will take you to the ski areas. You can stay in a nice and cozy hotel or in a comfortable mountain hut. If you like to ski from the top of the other mountains, or even Jebel Toubkal, you have to walk up with your tour ski’s. There you find an unprepared piste in a rough mountain area to get you down. This is only for experienced tour skiers. A local guide comes with you. Several summits and high passes can be done depending on how many days you have to spent: Tizi Likemt (3.500m), Ras-n-Ouanakrim (4.045m), Akioud (4.030m) en of course the highest of all: Jebel Toubkal (4.167m). For this Toubkal ski special you stay in mountain huts and local Berber guesthouses where you can enjoy the hospitality of the Berber people. Your luggage is transported on mules (or with porters depending the snow). And in February you can make this special Morocco ski tour accompanied by an UAIGM mountain guide.

rotsklimmen Todra Gorge en Amellago

In Zuid Marokko vindt je een aantal adembenemende kloven (gorges) en rotspartijen. Ideaal voor mooie wandelingen én je vindt er behaakte routes vanaf 4+. De Todra gorge is al langer ontdekt met o.a. veel pioniers werk van o.a. Nederlandse klimmers getuige ook de in de smalle kloof gelegen sectoren de Meuk en Mur des Hollandais. Hier is het allemaal begonnen. De eerste 8a is hier door Nederlanders geopend. In de kloof kan je niet in de zon klimmen en is het vaak druk. De "Petit Gorges" wat verder op langs de weg naar Tamtatouche is een absolute aanrader. Na een mooie wandeling van zo'n 30 minuten door de lange kloof kom je in een klein klimparadijsje ..... Aan beide kanten van de droge rivier zijn de wanden behaakt. De wanden variëren van plaat tot lichte overhang. Veel routes hebben een combinatie van deze wandvormen waardoor de routes in het algemeen technisch zijn. Verzuringsroutes zoals in Van Güllich zijn hier weinig te vinden. De spreiding in gradatie is groot; van 4 tot 8a+. Het merendeel van de routes is in de 6e graad (31 van de 60 routes). Een klimhal zal jaloers zijn op de verdeling.  Echte aanraders zijn Docteur exentriek (6a+), 4 express (6c+), Nala de Nala (7b+) en al is het voor de naam; Gne gne (7c+). Eigenlijk zijn bijna alle routes mooi in deze sector . . . eigenlijk is de hele sector gewoon een aanrader. Pas allen wel op voor steenslag bij de routes op het eind van Tacos nord.

Marokko Marathon of Semi Marathon van Marrakech; januari 2015

Exotischer kan het haast niet: een (halve) marathon door deze roodlemen koningsstad, versiert met palm- en olijfbomen. Incl. 2-daagse excursie naar Atlas gebergte. Deelname beperkt, dus meld je alvast aan!

In January climate is ideal. In the morning it is even fresh while temperature is slowly climbing towards 20 degrees Celsius; ideal for running.
The Marrakech marathon and semi marathon is one of the most special experiences you can have. The royal and magic city of Marrakech in the south of Morocco offers an extraordinary setting to run your (semi) Marathon. Streets are decorated with palm and olive trees. A nice contrast with the red clay of the medieval city wall and in the background a blue sky with the white snow capped peaks of the Atlas Mountains. The Marrakech Marathon is well known for runners from all over the world. The circuit is one of the fastest in the world. Fastest time in 2011 was 2:09:52 for the Ethiopian Girma Beyene GEZAHN. For the semi marathon the fastest time was1:02:00. Fastest time in 2012 was 2:08:51 for the Kenyan Stephan TUM. For the semi marathon the fastest time was 1:01:59. Running a (semi) marathon in a different culture and country ...?? This is already very special and a new personal record. And if you go there take a little more time to visit the magic city of Marrakech and the magnificent High Atlas Mountains which are so close. Maroc Travel organizes a 6 day tour.
